Scientist Fermentation (m/f)

Your tasks and responsibilities

Bayer CropScience Biologics GmbH develops, produces and markets biological products for integrated crop protection and has developed a unique technology for the mass production of filamentous fungi.
For our team Fermentation R&D based in Wismar we are looking for a scientist (m/f) with an innovative spirit and willingness to undertake challenging scientific tasks. In detail you:

 

  • Optimize the fermentation process for various fungi and increase the overall reliability of the process
  • Organize and support the production of fungal material for lab and field experiments
  • Support the installation and evaluation of new procedures and technologies for the various steps of the fermentation process
  • Improve tools for fermentation upscaling
  • Keep awareness in the field of fermentation development and implement new ideas according to the project needs
  • Compile data and provide comprehensive result presentations to interdisciplinary teams and across company functions

           

Who you are

  • University degree (Bachelor, Master/ Diploma or higher) or an equivalent education level in biotechnology, microbiology, process engineering, mycology or similar
  • Hands-on experience with fermentation or fungal microbiology
  • Knowledge of fungal biology as well as biological control is advantageous
  • Good data interpretation skills and knowledge in statistical analysis
  • Excellent organizational, reporting and communication skills
  • English & German language skills, both written and spoken are desired

 

This is a fixed-term contract for 1 year.
