Lead Information Architect and Business Analyst "Digital R&D" (m/f/d)

Your tasks and responsibilities

 

R&D IT is Bayer’s internal IT organization that collaborates with the Research, Development, Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance functions of our division Pharmaceuticals. R&D-IT is responsible for innovation, conceptualization, building and operation of an integrated environment to drive core company processes.

In this role, you will be an intermediary between the business community and the technical community working with IT project teams, technical experts and R&D colleagues to collect, clarify, and translate business strategy and requirements into conceptual design and investment portfolios from which applications and solutions are developed. You act as a trusted advisor (m/f) and strategic partner (m/f) of senior management in developing target state descriptions and information product visions collaboratively. You will build roadmaps to define and steer activities that ensure reaching the target states and product visions to further drive digitalization of our core business.


Your responsibilities in detail:

  • Lead the translation of business strategy into a strategic information architecture roadmap for the next 3-5 years to drive R&D information integration
  • Lead the definition of a global data model to ensure robust, scalable and flexible enterprise data architecture
  • Responsible for the design of information & application architectures and standards, which optimize the ratio of business benefit and cost
  • Responsible for definition of concepts for the implementation of the information integration roadmap and for steering implementation
  • Initiate and lead communities that develop and work according to information integration principles
  • Responsible for managing R&D and Medical Affairs&Pharmacovigilance (MAPV) initiatives and projects to deliver valued solutions to Pharmaceuticals R&D and MAPV
  • Contribute to pre-projects in business process design and Information architecture
  • Drive the definition of the project’s scope, business case development, and identification of required resources in collaboration with business partners and Account Management
  • Oversee the tracking and maintenance of project financials
  • Lead and manage project teams

 

 

Who you are

 

  • Advanced university degree or business equivalent in natural sciences or computer science (PhD or MBA preferred)
  • Several years of experience and profound knowledge in LifeScience business process design associated with information systems like genomics cheminformatics, clinical data, regulatory affairs, medical and pharmacovigilance data
  • High level of IT acumen and understanding of complex architectures, landscapes and applications, incl. state-of-the art information integration concepts in the fields of data modeling, master data management, semantic web, streaming and service orchestration
  • Experienced in international and large project management, incl. knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Several years of experience in leading organizations and/or teams
  • Strong collaborator (m/f) and team player (m/f), who is dedicated to the success of peers and has demonstrated willingness to train/mentor and delegate workload and responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills and high degree of personal initiative to engage collaborators and peers, build relationships well across functions and effectively communicate with executive management and board of directors
  • Capability to maintain direction and focus in complex situations through proactive planning and organized approaches to work
  • Business fluent in English, both written and spoken
