Bayer frequently receives special awards for being an attractive employer - from many different perspectives. The company ranks highly in surveys among school pupils, students, graduates, young professionals and experienced employees from a wide range of disciplines, as well as scientists and working mothers, to name but a few. A seal of approval from organizations such as Kununu or the Fair Company initiative also bears witness to our popularity as an employer in Germany.
Germany’s Best Employer 2017
For the first time, Bayer has taken the top spot in the Focus ranking of Germany’s best employers, ahead of Google and Audi. After having ranked first in the chemistry/pharmaceuticals category three times in a row, Bayer is now delighted to have secured first place in the overall ranking which Focus publishes annually in cooperation with Statista, Xing and Kununu on the basis of employee evaluations.
Universum Student Survey 2015
Also in 2015, students in Germany consider Bayer to be one of the most attractive employers. The Universum Student Survey shows students of natural sciences rank Bayer in 2nd place. Students of health and medicine rank it in 6th place, and the Group is placed in 36th position by students studying business, in 39th position by IT students and 23th position by student engineers.
Universum Young Professional Survey 2015
Bayer is one of the most popular employers for young professionals in Germany who are just embarking upon their careers. This has been shown once again by the Universum Young Professional Survey, in which Bayer achieved 2nd place among natural scientists, 33rd place among engineers and 31st place among business graduates.
Trendence Pupil Barometer 2014
Bayer was ranked in 31st place in the “Pupil Barometer”. Each year, the study asks pupils from across Germany all about their wishes and priorities for starting a career and who their ideal employer would be.
Trendence Graduate Barometer
Bayer was voted among the TOP 100 most attractive employers in Germany in all subject areas – business, engineering and IT – in the Trendence Institute’s “Trendence Graduate Barometer”.
Trendence Young Professional Barometer
The “Young Professional Barometer” is used by the Trendence Institute to consult young career starters with no more than eight years’ work experience about their ideal employers and professional plans. Bayer was placed within the TOP 100 in this report.
MINT Minded Company 2015
Moreover, Bayer received the MINT Minded Company Award in 2015 for the way it nurtures talented young recruits in the MINT subjects (mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology. The jury was impressed with the special way Bayer supports young people in these areas. Bayer is now one of the 47 companies to have received the award in Germany. The term MINT is used in Germany as an equivalent to the english term STEM.
Kununu “Open Company”
The highly select “OPEN COMPANY” seal of approval awarded by employer ranking portal kununu.com is bestowed on less than one in a hundred companies examined. Bayer maintains very honest and active communications with Kununu, which earns it the title “OPEN COMPANY”.
Kununu “Top Company”
Only some six percent of the companies examined qualify for the “TOP COMPANY” seal of approval from kununu.com. Bayer has earned this privilege thanks to the many very positive ratings it has achieved on this employer ranking portal.
By taking part in the Fair Company initiative, Bayer undertakes to abide by fair rules for interns and young professionals.

Bayer’s “top4women” badge clearly demonstrates inside and out that the Group offers excellent prospects to female employees and promotes women’s career paths to best suit their stage in life.
CLEVIS ‘Praktikantenspiegel’ Survey
CLEVIS has once again awarded Bayer the title of Star Company. This award reflects current and former interns’ opinions of Bayer as an employer.
