Senior Deep Learning Researcher for Computer Vision (m/f/d)
The Decision Science unit at Bayer Pharmaceutical is a one stop shop for all enterprise advanced analytics projects. We work across all functions in Bayer from Research & Development, Radiology or Marketing & Sales to Product Supply. The applications are wide and range from generic Machine Learning (ML) to Computer Vision and NLP. We solve complex analytical problems and build solutions with the mission to improve the overall efficiency and decision making in the company. We have open Data Scientist positions for all levels of experience, and this is what we are looking for:
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- You drive the development, implementation and evaluation of state-of-the-art ML models focusing on Computer Vision and Medical Imaging
- Working with large-scale, multi-modal datasets from internal and external sources
- You establish strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand the business needs and formulate them into analytical approaches
- Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in life science industries and research
- Publish innovative methodologies and scientific discoveries in peer reviewed journals
- You are responsible for the development and training of your team members
WHO YOU ARE
- University degree in Machine Learning, Medical Imaging, Computer Vision, Computer Science or Applied Mathematics – PhD is a plus
- Several years of relevant industry experience related to the integration of ML and/or Medical Imaging Technology into products
- Broad knowledge in the latest Medical Imaging trends with hands-on experience on Radiology or Oncology
- Very good Python programming skills
- Professional experience with popular ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Hands-on experience with the computer vision ecosystem (e.g. OpenCV, SimpleITK, MONAI)
- Experience in Software as a Medical Device is a plus
- Publication record at conferences and journals and/or authorship of patents is beneficial
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team, understand business requirements and make the right trade-offs
- Fluent in English both written and spoken
