IoT Engineer (m/f/d)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new technological innovations or apply the latest digital technologies to create sustainable crop protection solutions
- Manage the scouting of hardware components, e.g., Raspberry Pi, ATMega, camera modules, etc., and validate their use in our IoT solutions
- Work closely with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to build IoT products that delight our customers
- Combine software, hardware and cloud technologies to design new IoT devices and related services
- Develop 3D models of our hardware prototypes and test various plastics with our 3D printers for active field use
- Control the collaboration with our hardware manufacturers, i.e., handover of prototypes, testing of the hardware, scaling for mass production
- Develop tailor-made source code according to the software design principles for IoT devices
- Use best practices for software development and establish them through teamwork, mentoring and code reviews
WHO YOU ARE
- Master of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
- Deep understanding of IoT architectures, connectivity frameworks, and cloud services (AWS) and expert understanding of Linux and Android OS
- Experience in building prototypical IoT devices using sensors, single board computers, and self-written tailored software
- Experience with wireless communication standards like cellular standards (3-5G), LPWANs like LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- In-depth understanding of network protocols and security, authentication, and authorization technologies
- Work experience in production software development with enterprise grade quality with object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
- Experience in modern software development processes (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.), software architecture, quality assurance, testing, and CI/CD
- Very good English skills, both written and spoken
