Business Licensing Officer (Transactions Oncology) (m/f/d)
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILTIES
- Develop concepts and deal terms for collaborations and other types of transactions in Oncology
- Lead cross-functional team in the alignment of the business case and resulting valuation
- Negotiate collaboration and resulting contract with partner along with legal and present project for decision making and approval to the relevant governance bodies
- Be a key ‘point of contact’ to partner as the deal progresses, in order to shape the collaboration optimally
- Adopt a strategic perspective with ability to lead on oncology BD strategic initiatives
- Represent Bayer at partnering and related oncology conferences
- Lead internal efforts for clinical collaborations and companion diagnostics/biomarker agreements and processes as needed
- Be accountable for compliance with divisional and corporate Bayer governance standards
- Be familiar with industry best practices
WHO YOU ARE
- University Degree in Natural Sciences and/or Business Administration. MBA or Equivalent post degree studies desirable. Advanced (e.g. PhD, D.V.M., M.D., J.D.) is desirable
- Extensive experience in pharma/biotech sector roles, including leading relevant industry transactions (complex biotech/pharma preclinical transactions, clinical stage deals, acquisitions) in BD&L
- Recent experience with oncology transactions including clinical collaborations/companion diagnostic agreements is desirable. Strong transaction experience across different deal types and therapeutic areas will also be considered
- Ability to be flexible and agile through the deal making process in your management of internal and external needs
- Strong experience with term sheet development, contract review and finalization
- Sound knowledge of project management, drug development, commercial and financial evaluation, and experience leading cross-functional teams
- Highly experienced in negotiation and all elements of deal-making process and the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders through complex deal processes
- Strong interpersonal skills in managing diverse partners and multicultural business relationships
- Ability to manage and motivate teams in challenging environments with diverse stakeholder interests
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
