Lead Data Architect (m/f/d)

Your tasks and responsibilities

Bayer's Business Intelligence and Analytics team is the central point of data and analytics enablement, encompassing global operation of BI solutions including the Data Lakes and Enterprise Data Warehouse, Big data analytics platform, data science, dashboarding and reporting tools. Within this context you as lead architect play key role in the design and implementation of data enablement platforms as well as information and data architecture.   

 

  • Acquisition, modeling and operations of Bayer data into the global data platform and therefore accountability for Business Intelligence Data Architecture
  • Ensure maximum business value and technical ability to deliver by joint scope definition with a broad range of stakeholders in business and IT functions in the planning phase
  • Manage global, international, cross-functional projects to drive data-driven decision making in Bayer
  • Coordinate internal financial and human resources and external vendors for the flawless project execution of projects and ensure delivery on time
  • Initiation, design and implementation of analytical systems that provide competitive advantage for Bayer in the market place
  • Monitor and safeguard solution design (including innovation, lifecycle management and cost planning) that continuously meets strategic business requirements as well as usability needs
  • Analyzing structural requirements for new software and applications
  • Drive and support adaption of new technologies and foster innovation in the area of projects, owned solution and beyond

 

Who you are

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in project management, ideally in the information technology
  • Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence and Analytical environments including concepts on data warehousing, big data analytics and cloud computing
  • High problem solving competence and ability to manage complexity
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, active listening, consulting, challenging
  • Intercultural awareness and experience in international project management
  • Moderate willingness to travel locally and internationally
  • Fluent English skills spoken and written
