Associate Director - Head of Advanced Robotics (m/f/d)

Your tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Explore and exploit together with all CPD (Chemical & Pharmaceutical Development) operational units the potential of advanced robotic automation to increase efficiency of lab and pilot scale operations
  • Build, manage and drive for implementation a portfolio of CPD robotic  automation projects together with cross-functional teams
  • Exploit together with QA and Regulatory functions the potential of robotic automation for smoother good manufacturing practice (GMP) compliance and operational excellence
  • Perform process assessments to determine best technology fit for robotic automation as well as proof of concept and feasibility studies with internal and external partners
  • Represent CPD in cross-functional initiatives on robotic automation in the Bayer R&D community and Bayer Product Supply organisation
  • Keep yourself up-to-date in the field of robotics and build personal network inside and outside the company

 

Who you are

 

  • Post-graduate degree (Master's/Ph.D) with strong technical background in advanced robotics incl. articulated, cartesian, parallel, delta, and selective compliance assembly robot arm (SCARA)
  • Hands-on experience with practical applications of cobots and mobile robotics (mechatronics and control, sensing, navigation, human/robot collaboration, machine learning, etc.)
  • Multiple years of relevant work experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry and familiarity with drug substance/drug product development & manufacturing are of great advantage
  • Proven capability in connecting technologies to applications and customer needs
  • Experience in managing collaborations with R&D partner organizations (research or implementation)
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of an international, interdisciplinary and distributed Team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English) to represent your technical field to internal and external stakeholders
