Scientific Lead for Parenteral Drug Delivery & Nano Technology (m/f/d)

The position purpose is to address the very high unmet need for organ targeting in heart and kidney diseases and to achieve major advances
in the targeting of drugs to tumors in specific, by means of innovative formulation technologies. As scientific lead (m/f/d) for parenteral drug delivery &
nano technology you define and realize the scientific path to success in the evolving field of parenteral drug targeting and nano technology
in formulation development. 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be at the front end of science worldwide on how parenteral drug targeting can further be developed to meet the need of patients for tissue-
  and organ-specific treatments incl. oncology

• Develop parenteral formulations for diverse therapeutic modalities employing novel depot and targeting technologies incl. nanoparticulate systems 

• Act as a scientific advisor (m/f/d) for investment opportunities in the field and as a mentor (m/f/d) for the development of talents 

• Evaluate novel parenteral drug delivery technologies, leverage external consultants and internal SMEs, and establish new internal
  and external collaborations 

• Track competitor activities and major IP generation and ensure that CPD project work in your area is captured into our own IP 

• Co-build and maintain scientific and technical expert communities across R&D for development of parenteral depots and drug targeting 

• Lead externally through scientific conferences, publications, and/or consortia engagement 

WHO YOU ARE

• Ph.D. in pharmaceutics, chemical engineering or a closely related field with long-term professional, pharmaceutical industry experience in
  novel drug delivery technologies 

• Scientific and practical knowledge of NCEs, peptide, and/or ATMP formulations development 

• In-depth familiarity with the external community of CROs and CMOs and authorities when it comes to transit from early POCs to successful
  late stage CMC development and technical commercialization of parenteral targeting or nano technology

• Good knowledge of FDA/ICH/EMA guidelines and cGMPs, phase-appropriate development strategies and global requirements for
  IND, NDA and BLA submissions (or their regional equivalents)

• Demonstrated drug delivery expertise through a record of publications and presentations

• Proven experience in aseptic DP manufacturing of sterile drug product both in liquid and lyophilized forms is highly desired

• Team player (m/f/d) with excellent communication skills and collaborative behaviors, capable to motivate and electrify team colleagues
  combined with end-to-end and global thinking, proven organizational and planning abilities as well as excellent stakeholder management skills  

• Fluency in English is mandatory; command of German is an advantage

This position can be based in Wuppertal, Berlin or Turku.
