Postdoc "Extrahepatic RNA delivery" (m/f/d)
Are you passionate about RNA therapeutics? Do you want to help deliver them to the organs and cells of interest to make use of their therapeutic potential? Do you like to work in a great team and have fun? Then this opportunity might be something for you!
Here, we are looking for a PostDoc in nucleic acid drug delivery/non-viral vector design to deliver therapeutic RNAs. As such, you will be part of a vibrant, dynamic and cross-functional network of dedicated scientists within Bayer’s cell and gene therapy community. The team’s mission is the development of next generation non-viral vectors to help deliver the promise of cell- and gene therapies.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The design, preparation, characterization and evaluation of novel non-viral vectors for the delivery of RNA-based therapeutics in extrahepatic applications

- Strong record of scientific excellence in the field of nucleic acid drug delivery (publications, patents and conference presentations)
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with the design, analytical characterization (e.g. DLS, HPLC, SEC) as well as performance evaluation of non-viral vectors (e.g. LNPs) for the delivery of nucleic acids
- Excellent team player with the ability to work independently
- Creative and flexible thinking, high motivation, and can-do attitude
- Great communication skills (English written and spoken)
- Desirable qualifications: Experience in lipid chemistry as well as bioconjugation techniques
- Practical skills with cell-based and/or in vivo assays to assess the performance of novel non-viral vectors
- Experience and/or knowledge of state-of-the-art gene editing technologies
- Innovative and creative mindset to enable assessment of the latest analytical platforms
